Carole Alexander, LPC, earned her Masters in Guidance and Counseling from Louisiana Tech University. Despite the challenges posed by the Covid shutdown in 2020, Carole persevered in completing her LPC requirements, and she remains dedicated to staying informed through ongoing education to provide her clients with the latest care. She specializes in couples, families, and relationship issues, and believing that we do not live this life in a vacuum, also focuses on individual problems such as emotion regulation, anger, depression and anxiety. She is trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) for ages 3-18, and Solution-Focused therapy for families and adults. She also has the training and a compassionate heart to walk through the journey of grief and loss with her clients to help them see their way through.

Carole’s mission is to foster holistic healing in the lives of those she serves. She firmly believes that everyone has the potential to lead fulfilling lives and achieve well-being. In her counseling approach, Carole sees the therapeutic process as a collaborative journey, where trust and understanding between client and counselor form the foundation. Together, they explore current challenges, define goals for a brighter future, and systematically work towards realizing those aspirations.

A proud member of the American Counseling Association, the Louisiana Counseling Association, and the American Association of Christian Counselors, Carole brings a wealth of knowledge and dedication to her practice. Beyond her counseling degree, she has pursued in-depth courses from Rhema Correspondence Bible School and completed a year of training from the Louisiana School of Ministry. Carole has also incorporated yoga into her routine for health and wellness, recognizing the importance of spiritual connection in her personal journey.

Carole is a warm and dedicated counselor, originally hailing from Illinois and making her way through Texas, now proudly calls the Shreveport area home, where she and her husband have lovingly raised their family. With a rich background spanning over 15 years in addiction and behavioral health, William Calhoun is a seasoned Licensed Addiction Counselor dedicated to helping individuals from diverse backgrounds navigate life’s challenges. He specializes in working with adolescents and adults, and his comprehensive skill set and education empower him to address issues ranging from substance abuse, depression, anxiety, trauma, and relationship conflicts to daily stressors and everyday roadblocks.

Inspired by his early experiences in the Boy Scouts of America, where he achieved the rank of Eagle Scout, William’s passion for assisting others led him to pursue a Master’s degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Louisiana Tech University in 2007, followed by a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Northwestern State University of Louisiana in 2011.

Beyond traditional therapeutic services, William’s expertise extends to ancillary behavioral health roles, such as serving as a psychometrician and acting as the Chief Operations Officer for an 82-bed residential substance abuse facility. Utilizing cognitive and solution-focused approaches, William guides individuals towards a profound understanding of their own schemas, fostering healing and growth. With a commitment to clients’ well-being, he combines his educational background, skills, and extensive experience to offer personalized support on the journey to recovery.

Kristina Chapman, Master’s Level Intern, helps clients understand and cope with their anxiety, depression, stress, veterans’ issues and other concerns by providing therapeutic interventions tailored to their specific needs. She uses cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and relaxation techniques to help clients develop healthier coping mechanisms. Kristina has a multicultural background and speaks three languages fluently: English, German, and Croatian.

Kristina has experience working as a Clinical Crisis Counselor, working with mentally disabled people, and individual and couple counseling. As a Clinical Crisis Counselor, she offers a safe and nonjudgmental space for clients to express their thoughts and emotions.

Britney is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Shreveport and Bossier City, Louisiana. She has over 5 years of experience interning in psychiatric hospitals and working in community-based agencies. Britney is also a Professional – Doctoral Member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy. She has a passion for working with couples, families, and children. She uses strengths-based narrative and collaborative approaches that support clients in establishing, implementing, and achieving their goals. She currently attends National University (formally Northcentral University) to achieve a Ph.D. specializing in children and adolescent therapy. She is also receiving training in trauma-based therapy and Gottman Couples Therapy.

When Britney is not helping clients achieve their fullest potential, she engages in self-care practices such as listening to music or going to the gym. She also enjoys road trips and trying new cuisines. She hopes to become a world traveler.

A Provisional Licensed Professional Counselor (PLPC), Cat is originally from the Shreveport/Bossier City area. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Biology with a second major of Psychology from Centenary College in Shreveport. She obtained her Alternative Teacher Certification in Secondary Mathematics and Biology from Louisiana Tech in Ruston, Louisiana and completed her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia.

Cat specializes in mind-body connection, addiction, grief, trauma, and Christianity. She believes that a person’s experiences throughout their lifetime help to create the person they are today and also knows the mind and body work together for the overall health of the individual. Cat uses an eclectic counseling style that incorporates numerous theories and methods with her clients. She incorporates mindfulness, grounding, and relaxation techniques in addition to aromatherapy, sound therapy, breathing techniques, and visualization among other sensory components in her sessions. She is also EMDR certified.

During sessions, she explores unconscious, deeply buried thoughts and feelings in order to bring them forward into the conscious mind to be addressed. She helps her clients address and change maladaptive beliefs, thought patterns, and unproductive coping skills. She incorporates solution focused therapy which helps her clients use their own strengths to manage their present issues. Also, Cat examines nutrition as it plays a very important role in the functioning of the mind and body. She believes past events and current stressors contribute to unhealthy functioning.

Raised by a single parent, Cat has blended her family with that of her husband’s. She understands the hard work that goes into being a single parent and the difficulties that go into having a successfully blended family. She has three children, a stepson who is married, and has three granddaughters, two dogs, and a one-eyed cat. Having been an endurance athlete, she completed a half marathon and a half ironman triathlon. She has mountain biked numerous endurance events in Louisiana, Texas, and in the mountains of Arkansas, Colorado, Arizona, and Utah. She enjoys scuba diving with her family and collects gnomes and bee decorations. She tends her honeybees on a regular basis and collects swarms in the spring and early summer. As if this wasn’t enough, She spends her free time flipping houses and managing rental houses and properties.
